With over 14 years of experience in the culinary industry, Elham has had an overall passion and love for cooking since early childhood and has experience in a wide variety of cuisines. Her specialty is to cook with fresh, quality ingredients.
Education and Early Career
Even after graduating with a BA in Advertising and minor in International Marketing, Elham never lost the desire for food. She worked in the computer industry for several years before finally making the move to begin teaching cooking at Viking HomeChef in 1999. She began catering in 2000 and founded Blue Sage in 2006, which has grown into a successful business with hundreds of corporate and private clients.
In 2008, she was recruited to start up and manage the culinary program at the Palo Alto location of Sur La Table, where she was responsible for overseeing all the operations of the cooking school, including scheduling of classes, planning the menus, and teaching 3-4 classes a week. Elham left in 2009 to be able to put all her energies into Blue Sage.
In 2011, she extended her culinary education, passion, and inspiration by training in Lyon, France with Chef Jean-Marc Villard, a chef-professor for ten years at the Paul Bocuse Institute.
Elham is always looking to expand her culinary repertoire thru local programs as well. In early 2012, she completed an intensive cheese course and is now an Artisan Cheese Specialist. Her most recent continued leaning was completing the Wine Foundation Program at The French Culinary Institute.
She has also worked with such accomplished chefs as Chris Cosentino, Michael Chiorello, Tyler Florence, and Cindy Pawlcyn.
What she is working on
Elham is writing her first cookbook. She is at the beginning stages of collecting her recipes and organizing them into a theme.

“Thank you for the most incredible meal and service that you provided for our friend’s surprise 60th birthday. It was such a fun experience to learn all the “chef’s secrets” to superb cooking. I appreciated the detailed knowledge you had on the origins of the food groups you presented. It made me feel confident that I, too, could reproduce some of these fabulous meals for myself and guests in the future. I appreciated that you “walked us through” each recipe to explain the ingredients and where to shop for those “sometime difficult” items. Your bright personality made everyone feel like future chefs!”

” Our Blue Sage catered dinner party was fantastic. Our guests are still talking about it. From the moment Elham and her staff arrived, the night belonged to them. All I had to do was set the table and enjoy the evening with our guests. Each course was prepared and served to perfection. My husband and I loved that each course was described before serving. The food was delicious, and we enjoyed every bite. I have recommended Blue Sage to my friends and will absolutely continue to use them myself. Just wait until you try the truffle surprise at the end of the evening!”
